Haldimand County Events This Weekend

If you’re searching for the best Haldimand County events this weekend, you won’t have to look far. From heritage tours and cultural celebrations to live music, family festivals, farmers’ markets, and community fundraisers, communities across Haldimand County are packed with things to see and do.

The weekend is headlined by two significant county-wide events.

Doors Open Haldimand returns on Saturday, inviting residents and visitors to explore museums, historic buildings, churches, Black history sites, and landmarks that are rarely open to the public. It’s one of the best opportunities of the year to discover the stories that helped shape Haldimand County.

Also taking place Saturday is the fifth annual Emancipation Day Gathering in Canfield. The event commemorates the abolition of slavery across the British Empire while celebrating Black history, culture, and resilience through educational programming, guided tours, guest speakers, music, and community activities.

Elsewhere across the county, there’s no shortage of entertainment.

Selkirk Sports Day returns for a full weekend of baseball, family activities, food vendors, bouncy castles, cornhole, a movie in the park, and a Saturday night dance. History enthusiasts can also visit WAFMA Heritage Days in Jarvis, where antique machinery, demonstrations, heritage buildings, and agricultural exhibits celebrate Haldimand County’s rural roots.

Music lovers will find live performances throughout the weekend at local restaurants, breweries, and parks, while Dunnville offers everything from the Saturday Farmers’ Market and charity barbecues to birds of prey demonstrations at Rock Point Provincial Park and live entertainment throughout town.

In Cayuga, visitors can enjoy a wellness retreat or Golden Hour High Tea at Ruthven Park, while Toronto Motorsports Park hosts another action-packed weekend of racing and Test & Tune events. Across Caledonia, Hagersville, Fisherville, Jarvis, and Townsend, local organizations are hosting community barbecues, trivia nights, heritage tours, karaoke, walking groups, and family-friendly activities.
