Help Send Local Kids to Camp This Summer by Hosting a LemonAID Stand

Summer is a season of camps, road trips, swimming lessons, and making memories. But for many children across Haldimand, Norfolk, Brant, and surrounding communities, those experiences simply aren’t possible because of financial barriers.

That’s why the Child and Family Services of Grand Erie Foundation is once again launching its LemonAID campaign, inviting residents, businesses, and community groups to help give local children a summer they’ll remember.

The grassroots fundraiser turns a classic lemonade stand into an opportunity to support children and youth who could benefit from summer camps, recreational programs, cultural activities, and other enriching experiences.

This year, the Foundation hopes to help 350 local children and young people take part in activities that build confidence, friendships, life skills, and a sense of belonging.

“LemonAID is one of the easiest ways our community can make a meaningful difference,” said Kevin Hodge, Board Chair of the Child and Family Services of Grand Erie Foundation. “Every child deserves the chance to create memories, build confidence and simply be a kid.”

Anyone Can Host a LemonAID Stand

Getting involved is simple.

Families, businesses, workplaces, schools, and community organizations are encouraged to host a LemonAID stand almost anywhere. To make it even easier, the Foundation provides free host kits that include supplies and signage. The kits are made possible through support from Jay’s No Frills, 123 Supplies, Affix Label & Print Inc., and The Water Bar.

If hosting a stand isn’t possible, donations are also welcome.

According to the Foundation, every $250 raised helps provide one child or young person with a meaningful summer experience they might otherwise miss.

How to Get Involved

The Foundation is encouraging the community to think big. Sponsor one child, organize a workplace fundraiser to support several more, or gather friends and neighbours to host a stand together.

As summer gets underway, it’s a simple way to help ensure more local children have the chance to make memories that will last long after the season ends.
