Haldimand County Pulse

This past week offered a welcome change of pace. I had the pleasure of enjoying a quieter few days at home and was even able to spend some quality time with family and friends, something that is always appreciated amid a busy schedule.
I attended Selkirk Heritage Days at the Selkirk Centennial Community Centre and had the opportunity to connect with many members of the community. It is always wonderful to see the old-fashioned crafts, heritage displays, and live demonstrations that celebrate the rich history of our area. Events like this remind us how important it is to preserve and share our local stories with future generations, and I always enjoy being part of the event.
The Scouts Canada (Baden Powell Scouting Association) hosted their annual Shrove Tuesday Pancake Dinner at Faith Centennial United Church. The scouts did an amazing job serving up a delicious meal and welcoming guests with enthusiasm and teamwork. It is inspiring to see our young leaders stepping up and contributing so positively to our community.
This week, I also spent time reviewing agendas for the upcoming Haldimand County OPP Detachment Board and Haldimand County Public Library Board meetings which occur this week Thursday.
I will be participating in the Coldest Night of the Year in Dunnville on February 28. I have been helping to raise funds for True Experience. Together with thousands of Canadians across the country, I will be walking and fundraising to support individuals and families experiencing hurt, hunger, and homelessness in our community.
If you wish to donate, show your support, register to join a team, or sponsor a participant, your generosity will make a meaningful difference.
Have a great week, everyone!
