Starter Company Plus Grants

Haldimand County entrepreneurs have a limited time to apply for a program that could provide up to $5,000 to help start, expand, or purchase a business. Applications for the 2026 Starter Company Plus program are now open through the Brantford-Brant Business Resource Centre, but the application window closes on August 9. What Is Starter Company Plus?

Starter Company Plus is an Ontario government-funded program that helps entrepreneurs build stronger, more sustainable businesses. Businesses selected for the program may also receive a grant of up to $5,000 to help offset eligible startup or expansion costs, including equipment, inventory, technology, marketing, or other approved business expenses.

The funding is intended to complement the training, not replace it. Applicants are expected to demonstrate commitment to their business through their planning, participation, and personal investment.

Is the Program Available to Haldimand County Businesses?

Yes.

Although the current intake is being managed by the Brantford-Brant Business Resource Centre, entrepreneurs from Haldimand County are encouraged to apply if they meet the program’s eligibility requirements.
